2. What I collect
- Email address — when you join The Private View or submit an inquiry or contact form.
- Message content — anything you write in an inquiry or contact form, such as your name and message.
- Technical data — when you visit, the hosting provider may log standard data such as IP address, browser type, and time of access.
- Usage data — if analytics are enabled, anonymised, cookieless statistics about page visits, with no personal profiles.
3. Purposes & legal basis
- To send you previews and updates about the work, only if you signed up (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — consent).
- To respond to your inquiries about available works (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — pre-contractual steps).
- To operate, secure, and improve the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest).
You can withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future.
4. Service providers
I use a small number of providers who process data on my behalf:
- Web3Forms — delivers form submissions to my email.
- GitHub Pages — hosts the website and may log standard access data.
Some providers are based outside the EU, such as in the United States. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, for example the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Retention
I keep your email for as long as you remain subscribed, or until your inquiry is resolved. You may request deletion at any time.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, request restriction or portability, and object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email hello@benjamincahillane.com.
7. Supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. The competent authority is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
